Here are some experimental designs done for Middlebury's

Art Walk at Belladonna last September. It was fun coming up with abstract ways of using flowers and other materials - yes, that is a coconut!

fun holiday wedding

This was another small wedding in Middlebury in mid December. The bride wanted a bouquet with not your everyday roses so red amaryllis, ranunculus and parrot tulips were just the thing. Mom requested a small loon perched in her bouquet to remind her of their vacations by the lake. Sweet! The groom was Scottish so thistle blooms with tiny pinecones and cedar was used for boutonnieres. A very cold day for the wedding but a cosy stay for the bridal party at the Inn on the Green helped!

Intimate winter weddings seem to be the thing this year! We have been busy through November with brides wanting informal but elegant bouquets and flowers that complement the winter season and reflect their personalities too. Our specialty!

Fall weddings

Ahh, the glorious final fall days before we are covered in snow. This picture of Katie and her Dad was a small wedding in Rochester in October where we took advantage of the great local dahlias and sunflowers to create a fall harvest of color that really accents the glowing bride! Thanks for the great pictures Katie!

Welcome to our blog for the Blossom Basket, downtown Middlebury's funky flower shop. We are in our new home at 8 Bakery Lane a few blocks away from our previous location at 56 College Street next to Sama's Market. Moving was tough, surprise surprise, but we're still here providing fresh flowers, plants, and other good stuff! Like wine! Now for sale in the shop and soon adding a jewelry line with a vintage feel from a Shelburne VT craftsperson! Just in time for the holidays - how cool is that!
